Make GOOD Stuff

People make stuff for people - physical and digital products, tools, processes, services, environments - things to “use” and experiences to be “experienced.”

Good stuff is a direct result of how much care a maker takes to create something for a specific purpose. Crappy stuff is a result of carelessness.

I like to make good stuff and help others make good stuff.

I’ve spent decades doing this and some of it sounds very fancy - human factors, ergonomics / anthropometry, user experience, product design, UI/UX, etc. It all boils down to one thing - good stuff is...

Designed to be of SERVICE.

Design isn’t just how something looks but more importantly how something works.  Design isn’t only limited to the “stuff” - it also includes the myriad steps and processes connecting the initial idea all the way to the smile on the face of the person using/experiencing the stuff.  Above all, design needs to help people achieve something positive and be of service - and make their lives easier and slightly more delightful - rather than introducing yet another complexity that has to be endured and managed.  Make stuff that accommodates people - rather than forcing people to compensate for the shortcomings of the stuff.

I use design to elevate customer experiences and streamline supporting tools and business processes to ensure those great initial ideas are faithfully executed.

I don’t do this for the money. I make money to do more of this - to choose with whom I work, on what I work, and when I work - and to learn some new things along the way.  I choose as often as I am chosen.  I’m not for everyone - but you know who you are.
